Greenwood Scaffolding is a Salford based company, providing access scaffolding services in the North West. Our ethos is simple – we complete our projects safely, on time, on budget. This can be evidenced by the level of repeat business we enjoy from our satisfied customers.
The company has made significant investment into the revolutionary Plettac Metrix System. The speed, flexibility, strength and inherent safety of the system enables us to safely provide completed structures in a fraction of the time normally taken, offering many benefits to our clients.
We currently directly employ around 42 operatives, all of whom hold the relevant CISRS trade card. Accreditations held include CHAS, Constructionline, SSiP and RISQS. Simian Risk Management provide additional safety advice and support.

Recent projects are as diverse as 6 number high rise tower blocks fully scaffolded for full refurbishment; external access scaffold for new build timber frame and traditional construction houses and apartments; mobile cantilever scaffold for use in aviation; a scaffold “Maze”, as part of an art exhibition; and numerous smaller scaffolds for Responsive Maintenance / Emergency Repairs. HIGH RISE
Greenwood Scaffolding specialise in high rise tower blocks. As seen on the video link, which has featured in Construction News, we recently erected a full scaffold to a 17 storey tower block in 12 days – rather than the 12-14 weeks allowed in the programme. This speed enabled our client to commence his works sooner, and also resulted in the reduction of costs due to the shorter on-site contract period.
NEW BUILD HOUSING
Metrix scaffolding is the ideal access solution for new build housing, both traditional and timber frame construction. The strength, flexibility and speed of installation means that additional lifts or adaptions can be carried out in minutes rather than hours, ensuring trades have continuity of work.
REFURBISHMENT
Access for building refurbishment is provided quickly and safely, enabling our customers to commence their works at the earliest opportunity, reducing the overall time scaffolding is required. Safe access is maintained for residents, and any negative impact caused by loss of light is minimised.
RESPONSIVE MAINTENANCE
Many clients in the responsive and planned maintenance sector prefer the speed of Plettac Metrix which means that scaffolds can be erected quickly when works are due to take place, and quickly removed when works are completed.

AVIATION
Mobile cantilevered structure to provide platform and edge protection whilst working on top of aircraft, allows quick positioning and removal.
CARE
Access scaffolding, staircase and loading tower for new build extension to existing carehome, erected to facilitate multiple trades.
HIGH RISE
One of the numerous high rise blocks, erected in 17 x 2.5m lifts for window replacement and insulated render application in only 12 days.
EDUCATION
Scaffold erected on Manchester University for window replacement in a busy pedestrianised zone, and gantry over the pavement to minimise footpath disruption.
ENVIRONMENT
One of the high rise blocks was situated next to a river, to protect the environment we erected a structure to contain the skips, preventing contaminants entering the waterway.
REPAIRS
Four storey blocks in Oldham undergoing renovation. Minimising disruption and loss of light for residents was a key requirement.
HOUSING
Prior to installation of timber frame for new housing, scaffold is pre-erected to ensure quick, safe access for frame fixing teams.
HOUSING INTERNALS
Plettac Matrix erected to inside new, traditional construction dwellings for blockwork walls and fall protection.
